Privacy Policy

Shush ("the app") is made by Matt Gordon. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: nothing leaves your phone.
What the app processes
The app uses your iPhone's microphone to recognise who is talking. Audio is processed on your device, in memory, and is not stored, except as described below.
When you add a person (or yourself), the app keeps that short recording and a voice profile (a list of numbers describing the voice) on your iPhone so it can recognise them. The optional Summary feature transcribes and summarises speech using Apple's on-device speech recognition and Apple Intelligence; transcripts stay on your device and are not saved after you close the app.
What the app does not do
- It does not upload audio, recordings, voice profiles or transcripts anywhere.
- It has no accounts, analytics, advertising or tracking.
- It does not sell or share any data.
Deleting your data
Delete a person in the app to remove their recording and voice profile. Deleting the app removes everything.
Other people
Only add people who agree to have their voice recorded. Laws on recording people differ between countries; you are responsible for following them.
Website and beta sign-up
If you give us your email to join the TestFlight beta, we store it (with the date, your approximate country and which link brought you) on Cloudflare, and use it only to send your invite and beta updates about Shush. We never sell or share it. To stop rate-limit abuse we keep a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, not the address itself. Email us to have your details deleted at any time.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
We will post any changes on this page.
